Dr. Dome cares for patients with kidney-related disorders at her office at both Galion and Bucyrus Community Hospitals.

A healthy human body has two kidneys that are responsible for filtering toxins out of the blood and removing waste, regulating blood pressure, and maintaining a balance of fluids and nutrients. The kidneys have a critical function in the body and failure of the kidneys can be life-threatening. A Nephrologist is a physician who has been educated and trained in the diagnosis and management of kidney diseases and disorders related to the kidneys, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or acute or chronic renal failure. Nephrologists must have a strong understanding of mineral metabolism, the science behind pharmaceutical medicines, and must be able to manage dialysis and renal transplant patients.

Dr. Dome is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Osteopathic Internists, and the American Society of Nephrology.
