Interventional Pain Physician to Begin at GCH Pain Management Center
Dr. Ripal Parikh, board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician, is joining the Pain Management Center at Galion Community Hospital. Dr. Parikh will be joining Drs. Robert Gould and Ned Lakshmipathy who currently practice in the Pain Management Center and will begin seeing patients on September 1, 2011.
Dr. Ned Lakshmipathy, Director of the Pain Management Center, commented, “We are very excited to have Dr. Parikh join us. He is an outstanding physician and patients really love him. I’m confident that his personality and expertise will be a great benefit to our practice.”
Dr. Parikh obtained his Doctor of Osteopathy degree at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY. He was fellowship-trained in pain medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University and is a graduate of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Alliance of the Baylor College of Medicine and University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Medical Center. He completed his residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center and is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as well as the Hackett Hemwall Foundation.
Dr. Parikh will direct the diagnosis and treatment of pain patients and will provide advanced and comprehensive options for patients who suffer from chronic and acute pain. “We can treat all types of pain,” comments Dr. Parikh. “Our goal is to help suffering pain patients participate in normal daily activities and improve their quality of life. Many of our patients have been told that nothing can be done and they are so grateful when we can help them.”
The Pain Management Center at Galion Community Hospital offers diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as neck and back pain, headaches, arthritis, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, nerve damage, muscle pain, pelvic pain and more. Treatments used to treat pain sufferers include discography procedures to the cervical, thoracic and lumbar vertebrae, epidural injections, facet joint and myoneural injections, selective nerve root blocks, lumbar sympathetic blocks, nucleoplasty and others.
